- The name of the woman was identified as R. Sriranjini aged 40years.
- As per the sources she is a community activist who is involved in running various welfare schemes.
- Funds were transferred to the bank accounts of the woman for some related schemes but were withheld by the bank for non-payment of the dues.
- The bank asked R. Sriranjini to repay the loan amount first, then only funds will get released which she denied and threatened the bank for creating a scene.
- She somehow arranged a phone and has stolen SIM card from her sister and started sending bluff messages to CM and police officers along with some other officials, acting to which the respective department reciprocated immediately.
- R. Sriranjini was arrested on 24th of May by the police and case has been registered under the Information and Technology Act and Indian Penal Code
